The CBD in all of Martha’s products comes from hemp that’s legally and lovingly grown right here in the U.S.

U.S. regulations state that products must be less than 0.3% THC, or 3,000 parts per million. Martha’s products are lower than that limit by a significant margin, with only trace amounts - less than 0.05 percent - of THC.

There are all kinds of drug tests, so we can’t make any guarantees regarding the results of the drug test because we don’t know the exact parameters of any given test. But Martha’s products use a pure form of CBD (isolate) that eliminates THC to the point that nearly all laboratories will not detect any THC in our products, including our testing labs. Please view the COA for your particular product and batch to view the THC and non-detectable levels.

Yes. All of Martha’s CBD products are vegan.

Martha’s always looking for new ways to bring CBD to people. Stay tuned.

Yes. The CBD in Martha’s topicals is rigorously tested for residual solvents, heavy metals, pesticides and microbes

Martha’s CBD topicals use a variety of natural ingredients that can change color slightly over time. To keep your topicals fresh, store them away from direct sunlight at temperatures below 75 degrees.

Yes, Martha Stewart’s CBD topicals are both vegan and cruelty-free.

No. The effects of CBD use on nursing mothers and their babies hasn’t yet been studied. Until it is, we do not advise that you use CBD while pregnant or breastfeeding.

A lot of people are concerned about this. But there’s no need to worry. CBD does not produce the psychoactive effects that have long been linked with cannabis - and more specifically, with THC. In fact, you can’t get high from CBD.

We’re so glad you want to take Martha Stewart's CBD with you. Hemp-derived CBD products can be brought onto domestic flights, but generally are not permissible on international flights or cruises. Read more about TSA's guidelines on CBD here before you leave.

Here’s a little science for you: Bi-phase technology is when a product contains separate water and oil phases that repel on a molecular level, which helps maintain the stability of the actives. In this formulation the active ingredients are usually held within the water phase and the CBD is held in the oil – when you look at the formulation the oil sits on top of the water. This is a long way of saying that when you see “bi-phase” you should remember to shake the bottle to combine the phases before you use the product.

Although hemp plants are legal across the U.S. some states currently restrict the retail sales of some CBD products.

Everyone’s body is different, so it’s hard to give one answer for everyone. The onset and duration of the effects you feel from our products also depends on the method in which you consume them: If ingesting one of Martha’s gummies, you should feel the effects within 30 minutes to 2 hours, and they could last for up to 12 hours. If applying one of Martha’s topicals, you should feel effects within 10 to 15 minutes, and they could last for as long as 2-4 hours. Whatever you’re consuming it’s always best to follow the directions found on the label for best practices.

No, you can’t overdose on CBD. Without getting too technical, here’s why: While there are receptors for cannabinoids (such as CBD) present throughout your central nervous system, there are relatively few in the area of your brain stem that is responsible for your cardiorespiratory drive. In effect, it’s physically impossible to consume enough CBD to cause you to stop breathing - what would typically be described as an overdose.

This is a question a lot of people have when they first start working CBD into their routine. The first and best piece of advice is to always use the product as per the direction on the label. Another thing to remember is that everyone’s experience with CBD is unique to them; just because a product affects someone in a certain way, it doesn’t mean that you’ll experience the exact same effects, or require the same amounts. We recommend you start with a low amount of CBD and keep an eye on how it makes you feel before trying more. We call this the “start low, go slow” process.

While many have claimed significant benefits from CBD use, some people have associated it with nausea, fatigue, and irritability. While CBD is generally considered safe, it’s important to understand the possible side effects before incorporating it into your life. The effects of CBD can vary from person to person, and are influenced by a plethora of factors such as genetics, biochemistry, gender, tolerance, health, and even the environment in which the hemp was grown. Among people who have been prescribed coumadin (a blood thinner), some studies have suggested that CBD use can lead to increased levels of it and other medications in the blood, in much the same way grapefruit juice is said to.

Our bodies naturally produce chemicals called endocannabinoids that interact with cell receptors throughout our bodies. Our endocannabinoid system (ECS) is involved in many physiological functions, including pain, sleep, inflammation, memory, digestion, immune functions, and neuroprotection. When CBD is introduced to the body - whether through a gummy or a topical - it interacts with the ECS, but does not bind directly to the system’s main receptors. As a result, CBD is not known to cause the intoxicating, euphoric effects that people experience when they smoke marijuana.

Yes. In 2017 the World Health Organization concluded that in its pure form CBD does not cause harm. Martha Stewart's CBD products use pure CBD. From seed to sale, Martha works with Canopy Growth to rigorously monitor its processes with consumer safety in mind. Everything they produce is tested to ensure precise amounts of CBD, and detect any pesticides, microbes, or heavy metals. Their hemp is grown and harvested using Good Agricultural Practice, processed under health authority accreditation, and our products are manufactured using exacting pharmacological standards. During the manufacturing process, each product is subjected to continuous safety and quality checks.

Good question. You’re clearly paying attention. Here’s the answer: CBD isolate is created by repeatedly refining hemp extract. The result is something that guarantees very precise dosing and highly consistent results, and essentially no THC content. Other processes may result in what is called broad-spectrum CBD, which contains a higher number of active ingredients, and full-spectrum CBD, which contains THC. Martha uses only CBD isolate, ensuring that consumers get pure CBD and can be assured they’re getting the exact same thing with every purchase.

CBD stands for cannabinoid, and it is one of about 100 active ingredients found in plants of the cannabis family. Unlike ∆9-tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC -another of the active ingredients in cannabis - CBD does not cause noticeable intoxicating, euphoric effects.

CBD isolate is made from hemp extract that has been refined several times to produce the purest CBD product on the market: typically with over 99% purity and no THC.

Keep it simple. After opening your CBD product, store it in a cold, dark and dry place.

No. The effects of CBD use on nursing mothers and their babies hasn’t yet been studied. Until it is, we do not advise that you use CBD while pregnant or breastfeeding.

It’s simple: CBD isolate is the purest form of CBD. Martha uses CBD isolate rather than full-spectrum CBD or broad-spectrum CBD because it helps ensure that the CBD you get in your gummy or topical is always consistent.

Yes. The CBD in Martha’s products is tested for microbial contaminants.

A certificate of analysis (COA) sounds highly technical, but it shouldn’t be intimidating. It’s a simple report on the chemical make-up of a product. The report will tell you the cannabinoid and contaminant profile of CBD products. Martha’s tests are done by independent 3rd party labs so you can rest assured you can trust the results. Substances reported in a COA include the following: Pesticides Residual Solvents Microbials Heavy Metals Foreign Materials Mycotoxins You can find the COA for your Martha Stewart CBD products at our COA page or by scanning the QR code on the label with your mobile device. Once on the website the customer can find the associated COA based on the LOT ID found at the bottom of the box. Read our article on how to read a COA for more information.

Shelf life can vary depending on whether you’re storing Martha’s gummies or topicals. It’s always a good idea to store your product in a cool, dry place, and use it before the expiration date printed on the packaging.

Hemp is a tough, fibrous type of cannabis plant called cannabis sativa. It has been grown by farmers for thousands of years. Hemp plants are the source of the CBD isolate used in all Martha Stewart's CBD products.

No. Hemp is different from the types of plants that produce large amounts of THC (and are called marijuana.)
